Black Panther Sinks Titanic with New NA Box Office Milestone
Black Panther is on pace to surpass the domestic box office total of James Cameron’s Titanic this weekend and become the third highest-grossing film of all time in North America.
As reported by Deadline, the domestic total for Ryan Coogler’s MCU movie reached $659.3 million by the end of Friday, putting it only slightly behind Titanic’s $659.5 million haul, not accounting for inflation.
As such, the film is set to eclipse Cameron’s 1997 film today (Saturday, April 7) and become the third highest-grossing film ever at the domestic box office. Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Avatar hold the number one and two spots with respective hauls of $936.7 million and $760.5 million.
