Harry Potter Play Now Broadway's Top-Grossing of All Time
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has broke a major Broadway box office record, and it doesn’t officially open until April 22.
Entertainment Weekly reports the show became the top-grossing play in Broadway history. It has the highest single-week gross for a non-musical in its third week of previews, and has made over $2.1 million for the week ending April 8.
The previous record holder is the LBJ drama All the Way starring Bryan Cranston, which made over $1.6 million in June 2014.
The Cursed Child is the followup to Rowling’s seven-novel series, picking up nineteen years after the conclusion of The Deathly Hallows.
